I sent out my AMCAS earlier this month I've already gotten secondaries from four schools but have not heard a peep out of these schools:
Finch
Drexel
GW
Iowa-Carver College
Wake Forest
Albany
USUHS
BU

Do I sit back and wait or do any of these schools have secondaries out somewhere that I should be working on?

I applied to both GW and Wake Forest. Haven't heard from Wake yet (I know they screen first, though) but GW sent me an email about a week after my AMCAS went active (but before it was processed). They email it to you in PDF format and make you mail it in. You should get that one soon.

Hmm Im surprised I haven' t heard from GW..
I just realized I have heard from Wake Forest ... I got an email saying "Your application for the next entering class has been received from the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS).

Our office will contact you when further information is required."

Don't worry about BU.....you will definitely hear from them.
Everyone receives their secondary. It's a nice fat check and optional photo.

Yeah, at this point, I quit caring about the secondary because there is no way in Hell I'm going to their school. Would it have really hurt her to give me an extra 2 seconds to finish a sentence?

Duke (on their website, it says that they won't start until Aug. 6)

UCSF

They're the only ones who haven't downloaded my AMCAS, to date.

sooner, sorry to hear about your telephone experience--it's too bad the ppl on the other end aren't trained to perform their job in a manner that reflects the quality of schools. i've heard columbia is pretty bad in regards to this as well. keep in mind it may not reflect the overall friendliness of the staff...you might have just gotten one harried worker on a bad day....

Considering most schools will be starting withint the next month, their priorities lie with the incoming class. Some schools may still be handing out acceptances, etc. Be patient everyone. Thing will start to pick up very soon.

Hey Sooner that's sucks about GW. Most schools that I have called have been polite.

if i remember correctly, tufts doesn't get a download of the full AMCAS
i think that was the school that asked for a paper copy of your AMCAS
i guess they're system is not sophisticated enough to download it?
anyway, i sent out tufts secondary and hearing from them and til this day, there is still no transmission date on AMCAS for tuft
so i wouldn't worry too much about it

anyone hear from USC yet about secondary?

i honestly would not worry about the secondaries; they will come. as i recall, some secondaries took awhile to get to me in the mail (at least several months). for example, upstate. i received a letter stating that they had not received my secondary yet before they mailed out the secondary. and tufts took months to mail out a password that i would need in order for them to process the online secondary.

A received and sent out my tufts secondary last week.

I too have not had my AMCAS transmitted to Tufts, but it also hasn't been transmitted to Albert Einstein either. Anybody know how Einstein is working?

Yeah im in the same boat as Slick re Einstein, they sent an email to me even though my AMCAS hasn't been transmitted to them....correct me if im wrong but as long as a school has their secondary on their website open for anyone to download (no pw required), and they do not screen pre-secondary, then you can just complete it and send it in, even if you havent heard anything from them yet, i mean whats the point of putting it on the website for anyone if you have to wait for them to contact you and tell you to complete it

Tufts and GW were among the first secondaries I received, so Megalofyia you're probably going to get the next batch they send out. I don't think they screen.

Anyways, has anyone heard from the following?

USC
Mount Sinai
University of Pittsburgh
University of Nevada

Tulane has their secondary online. That is one that I've already completed.

merovingian, I think that's right. Einstein's e-mail said something like 'don't worry if you've already sent us information prior to our sending this e-mail. It won't be lost.' (not an exact quote, but something similar) I think as long as it's posted and doesn't screen, you're golden to send it.

I got their request in the mail a few days ago asking for my application fee....I guess after they get the money they will review my primary and see if they'll send me a secondary

I keep checking Pitts status page, but it says it hasnt received my app from amcas yet!? Even though my amcas app was transmitted to them weeks ago!? What's the deal?

It seems as if some schools are a little slow in sending out their secondaries. Since no one on this board seems to have received an app from Pitt, I'm not worrying. The schools that make me angry are the ones that don't screen, yet seem to have a random way of sending out their secondaries, like GW. I was verified by AMCAS on June 4, yet people who submitted their primary applications WAY after me have received secondaries before me from schools like GW and Rush (which I did finally receive). I know it's a bit whiny, sorry... You just want to do everything to have the best chance, and it's so hard when it's out of your hands.🙁

I've heard from Iowa and USUHS. I received a paper application from Iowa and an email from USUHS early last week. My AMCAS application was transmitted during the week of July 14th sometime.
