Isnt HbF and HbA2 increased in all beta thalassemias (both major and minor) - or in major and minor respectively like the FA 2016 pg 391 says?

Isnt hbF also increased in alpha thalassemia?

Keep it simple
HbF - increase in sickle cell
HbA2 - increase in beta thalassemia
HbF does not increase in alpha thalassemia because a component of HbF is alpha chain. Thus if you have deficient alpha chain you will have less of HbA, HbA2, HbF.
HbH is present in severe alpha thalassemia - likely fatal in early life.
