Does anyone know how a typical student is covered with health insurance? Do med schools provide plans similar to undergrad colleges?

My wife and I have a new baby and she will be staying at home. I was pretty sure I saw someone post that they got their family on medicare while they were in med school. Any current students out there with children and a stay at home spouse? How did you get insurance coverage?

The schools offer it, but be careful.

I have a better plan than what my current school offers and I pay about $50 less per month that what they make you pay.
