Healthcare internships as pass/fail

My university offers healthcare internships with hospitals and other healthcare facilities for a semester, we do get 3 academic credit hours for it, but there is no grading. It is listed as pass/ fail in the transcript and not counted in your GPA calculation. Will that be a problem in the AMCAS application and does the pass/fail grading have to be explained in a separate section ?

Can these be listed as extra curricular health care activity ( as clinical volunteering) on the AMCAS application, since we are getting academic credit for it, or will these be considered as part of academic activity and not clinical volunteering ?

I am pretty sure this was asked before, and the answer was that it isn't volunteering if you are receiving academic credit. P/F grading is never a problem if it's mandatory. No need to explain here -- it's not a prereq, and should be self explanatory when they see it's an internship.

Does internship count as volunteer work

I recently got the opportunity to do an internship at a center for domestic abuse. Is this considered volunteer work if I'm not getting paid but it counts for School Credit

Yup, just like a job isn't volunteering. Receiving academic credit is another form of compensation. It's not altruism; it's school. The same way chem lab isn't research.

Yes. For AMCAS, you'd use Other (rather than Employment, Volunteer, or Extracurricular) as the tag for the activity. The name you give the space will indicate whatever element(s) of the activity you wish to emphasize.
