Ok...well i hope that someone in this forum can help me out. I have recently been accepted to my top two choices for medical school, both osteopathic medical schools. I have to make a decision between CCOM, and UHS. and well the only thing that i think will help me make this decision is years 3 and 4. I have been going back and forth looking at the different clerkship locations, and I am totally lost...does anyone have any suggestions? If i attend UHS, there is a good chance that I will have to relocate my third and fourth year. Any suggestions??????
thanks a lot

In my interactions with UHS and CCOM students....I would go CCOM. Apparently at UHS...in order to "honors" it is especially difficult....and the students from UHS are angry at the way it is set up...so LOOK INTO IT before...

CCOM has an excellent reputation....

Anyone else out there??

Wow...finally a reply. Thanks so much, that is very interesting...i think ccom is the right choice at this point... I would love to hear any other advice or suggestions.

thanks again

I am also a Hoosier DO! Except I AM a DO at this point.

I went to UHS and year 4 was COMPLETELY set up yourself, I chose to rotate in my hometown /city and in the local university medical school. It was a fantastic opportunity and very flexible.

Year 3 was at a standard site.

Now I am a second year resident, and I look at future residents for interviews...honoring in anything other than your field of choice (emergency medicine for example) is simply ignored. Board scores, overall GPA, letters of recommendation, and field of interest clinical scores coupled with your interview are the ONLY things residencies care about. In other words, don't sweat the "honor" issue...as it is a non issue. Choose the place that best fits your personality. Chicago is awesome, and in fact both schools have great reputations. You can't go wrong.

OH I cannot thank you guys enough...your input has been really really helpful!!!! Thanks again...

by the way freeedom...STARCRUNCH iis the best!!!
