Hi all, I am a periodontist from INDIA.. my better half is moving to Paris for a year, does anybody know about the eligibility to practise in Paris.. I dont know the french language, can I study there in English.. Please, please help.. Its a question of my marriage or my career otherwise... Help !.

you have to learn french, and pass the DALF (a french languages test). Then you shd apply to a medical school ... you have to work hard coz only 15% pass the first year..then you ll apply again but this time to dental schools, they ll put u in a 3rd year class...
I ve been tryin for four years .!!! all what I could get is a great DALF score.!!!

Hi.. thanks for replying to my mail.. I am in a pretty bad shape right now. If I dont go to paris, its goodbye to my marriage.. Are there any chances of me getting any jobs, maybe in research etc... I have done a fair bit of research in the past. Are there any sites where I can find info about this.?

Thanks again.

I'd say your wife had better have a damn good reason for wanting to move you guys to Paris for a year, given that your career is not easily "portable" across international borders. And part of that 'damn good reason' had better be a 'damn good salary' to cover the fact that you aren't going to be able to make any money during that time.

If you are only going to be there a year, I wouldn't even try to get into school and all that crap. If they won't give you a license right away, just use that year to hang out and be a tourist, cause that's really what you are going to be. Let the wife foot the bill for it, too.

If I were you I would leave your wife and find a hot chick in India. When your wife comes back begging to be with you after a year just tell her Tough luck baby, maybe next time. Then drive off really fast in your convertible porshe with the hot chick blasting some cool Bollywood music. That will teach her to mess with a dentist.
