Hey guys,

Upon advice from other students/applicants at UMDNJ, I've scheduled an interview with the dean of admissions, Dr. Heinrich. Now I know some of you have done this too, and I'm just curious about what approach you took? I'm guessing I'm supposed to plead my case and say things to make myself stand out. I haven't received any info after my interviews, so I figure this may still have some bearing on my status. The meeting is tomorrow.... help!!!!

don't sweat it, Dr. Heinrich is a nice guy. he knows the drill and he knows exactly why you're coming in. what i did was just say that i wanted to meet him, introduce myself, explain that i really want to go there, and try to guage my situation. he's pretty candid. you'll be surprised just how much he'll know about you too, he knew my entire file, my stats, where i was working, what classes i had taken, and even what my interviewer had reported that i had said during my interview. so just be yourself, and just get out anything you want to or feel would help. unfortunately for me, he basically told me i'd have to wait it out for a potential spot later.

Great! Thanks PE, that really is a big load off. I'm just going to go over my file again, prepare a few questions, and not be nervous. I appreciate it!

You were right, he is a great guy. He let me know where I stood, and we just had a brief 20 minute talk. I'm so glad I did it!
