I am the Co-Founder of a newly formed national non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping underprivileged high school students with college admissions. The basic premise is that local chapters (founded at colleges throughout the nation) go around to local high schools and make presentations about college admissions. We supply the chapters with strategies, lesson plans, and guidance.

I am currently looking to hire Regional Directors to spread chapters through different regions of the United States and start a chapter at their college. During the summer we will apply for grants to try to pay the Regional Directors an incentive based stipend. At the moment, we can offer no financial compensation. You simply must be dedicated to lending a hand to underprivileged communities.

To be qualified for this job, you do not need to be an expert in college admissions. All that is required is passion, dedication and leadership ability. I am sure many of you have these characteristics already. I look forward to hearing from many of you.

I am looking for regional directors in the East, South, Mid-West and Southwest (We put Texas in the Southwest). If you are interested, please send a resume to: [email protected] . If you are on the West Coast, you can still start a local chapter. For new presidents of local chapters, a resume is not necessary.

There will probably be lots of competition for these spots, so if it is hard to choose, I will request phone interviews. I look forward to hearing from you!

Yes,

This happens to be a serious issue. If you haven't noticed, college consulting has become a big industry as of now. Interestingly, there are no non-profit oganizations that have been set up to correct for the disparity between rich and poor students in this area. You see SAT tutoring for poor students all of the time, but not admissions strategies.

I know that many future doctors care about such issues, which is why I thought posting here would be a good idea. This is serious so I expect only serious replies.

What you're doing is awesome, but there is at least one organization operating here in Minnneapolis doing the same thing. I don't know about the rest of the country. The founder of Admission Possible, Jim McCorkell, is an amazing guy. I heard him speak once at our school, and it sounds like he just had a dream and decided to do it. You should contact him for info to help you. The website is:

Thanks for posting this link. When we have operations at a college in that region, I will see if we can work together.

It would be a good match because what they seem to do is slightly different than us. We do not handle test prep: we are concerned with admissions strategies. One of our local chapters has already done a joint presentation with a test prep outreach organization, so working with AP would not be out of the question.

Once again, thank you for posting this link.

Thank you to those who have already applied! I will be taking resumes for the rest of the week, so if you are still interested, feel free to send your resume to: [email protected]
