How do we apply to school that are non-AMCAS (Columbia, Brown, etc.)? There is no place in the AMCAS application for put those in.
You have to go to their website and get the application directly from them. You can however send your MCAT scores to those schools through AAMC by score release (it's on their website www.aamc.org)
Good luck.
The Columbia application is on the Embark.com site. Definitely use this on-line application and not the paper one. They are very fast about reviewing the app, and it's so nice compared to AMCAS. I don't know about Brown.

•••••NYU's application sux big time -- they're the only 'manual' application that I know of (or, at least the only one I had to fill out). Of course, I had to use a typewriter that ran out of it's correction ribbon, which meant that I had to use whiteout on a cream colored app -- my final product looked AWFUL -- I was almost embarrassed to send it in -- I did get an interview, but maybe they still held it against me since I got canned post-interview. . .
Moral: Use a typewriter WITH a correction ribbon and practice (as lame as this sounds) with the typwriter (since so few of use use this at all anymore).
Oh, and re: Brown -- I wouldn't even bother unless you're an undergrad -- their school isn't particularly good anyway! (has nowhere near it's undergrad institution in terms of prestige).
