i don't understand why this is happening!!!! When i pasted my personal statement into the essay section, its says 5300 character counts...but when i try to save it...it keeps on cutting my essay...and going down to 5186 characters...why does it do that????

thats truly bizarre...whats the max character count? is it 5300? i cant remember from last year hehe


anywho, as for the reason why your essay gets cut, perhaps it is over 5300 and the counter doesn't read past that number...as for why it cuts it to 5186 or whatever number, your guess is as good as mine

i had the same problem last year. you have to copy and paste from notepad and not microsoft word. if you copy from notepad you should be fine.

I think the 5300 includes spaces as well. Maybe thats the problem.

I had this exact problem this year. When I was working in Internet Explorer it cut my essay, however when using Netscape I had no problems. Try using another browser and I think you will find it works.
