I am a med school applicant and here is my situation...I have a 3.7 GPA but scored 26 on the MCAT (10,10, and 6 on verbal). I am waiting to hear from Downstate and NY Med, which I still haven't been invited to an interview. I graduated one semester early and am currently doing research with a doctor at Downstate. I've been very troubled with my situation...I would appreciate to hear any advices. Thank you!

  3. The unfortunate thing is that schools look at verbal scores for reasoning, logic , and maturity. You really need at least a 9 to look good. Verbal was actually my highest score!
One thing you need to think about is this, have you looked into osteopathic medicine? THey have a history of looking past raw scores and looking at experience in the field. Just a thought.
