So if there are programs that sent out invites, rejections, or both, and haven’t sent me anything, does that mean that I might be on their “second wave”?
Should that give me hope or despair?

Based on last year’s thread there is a good amount coming mainly this week but not a lotIs there a real second wave? My PD seems to think there are a lot of interviews coming in at the end of August into September.
IDK. I have had a steady drip of rejections.. like Chinese water torture... drip drip dripI know rejections are coming in waves for sure
I hope the rejection drips are down titration not up-titrating.....IDK. I have had a steady drip of rejections.. like Chinese water torture... drip drip drip

Would also like to know the answer to this! Do they only reject the people they wouldn't take/don't seem them matching under any circumstances? Or do they reject most people and anyone remaining is de facto wait listed?
What does it mean retracted? Like they are no longer offering interview? or they are reviewing the application?Mine was also retracted.
12 minutes after getting MCW IV, they’re all scheduled. Hmph.
Mine was also retracted.
Me too... US DOI only got one interview so far. Getting nervous now. I am US IMG.
Did you get an acknowledgment from the University of Massachusetts before receiving the interview? I only received an acknowledgment from them saying they are reviewing the applications.Invitations

Did you get an acknowledgment from the University of Massachusetts before receiving the interview? I only received an acknowledgment from them saying they are reviewing the applications.
I'd personally only keep UPMC and maybe Moffitt and/or FC.Have to cancel a couple of interviews because of scheduling conflicts. Interested in academics, solids, immunotherapy.
How would you rank the following: Fox Chase, Moffitt, UPMC, Mayo Florida, Thomas Jefferson?
@gutonc
Appreciate it!
I received this from an "Oncology Only" program (Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences Medical Oncology Program) that I applied to and have no idea what they are talking about! is it a conditional program? I'm not a DO.
Seems they have extra exams, requirement during their fellowship (like DO LOR,..). Anybody has any clue/experience, are their rotations any different from other standard 2 yr fellowships?
Thanks
"Good afternoon,
I would like to thank you for your application and your interest in our Medical Oncology Fellowship Training Program.
Before our GME Committee moves forward with interviews, selection and ranking, we would like to make you aware of the eligibility criteria for this program:
During the first year of fellowship (all fees associated with this criteria will be paid for by the fellowship)
· 60 hours of OSU-COM’s years one and two to include; OMM I, II, III, and IV. A Teaching Guide for Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine or lectures may be used to direct the lab portion. Certificate of completion will be provided. OMM education from outside institutions will not be accepted.
· Verification that the candidate completed the CORRE examination with a minimum passing score that is determined annually by the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences Graduation Medical Education Committee (GMEC) utilizing the Domain Performance Index as defined by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.
· Letter of recommendation from a D.O. with an active practice. (letter must indicate that applicant understands osteopathic philosophy) – This can be completed by one of our osteopathic physicians.
During the second year of fellowship (all fees associated with this criteria will be paid for by the fellowship)
· Complete 60 hours of OPP Continuing Medical Education, approved by the OSU-CHS/OMECO, achieved through any of the following: CME courses, didactics, elective rotations, etc. focusing on clinical application.
· Successfully pass an OMM basic skills competency practical examination, administered by OSU-CHS faculty.
· Satisfactorily progress through the Osteopathic Recognition Milestones during fellowship.
If you would please let me know if you would still be interested in this program after having read this email regarding eligibility criteria by Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 5 pm CST."

Thanks for helping,I know that there's been discussion of a merger between DO/MD programs in the talks for a while, although I'm not sure of the current state of things. The programs funding may come in part from its DO association. They may not require this for DOs who apply.
Thank you for your helpful input.Interesting...
DO here. Still not entirely sure what this is about, but if I HAD to guess, I would say that in light of the recent ACGME merger, a lot of the programs that used to be for DOs only (the ones that were accredited only by the AOA) are trying to maintain their identity as DO programs. It is possible that this program is doing that by making sure that any non-DO applicant is forced to learn NMM (aka OMM or OPP) while they are there.
As far whether you should do this or not, I am not going to argue the merits of OMM here. I honestly think it’s ridiculous that they are asking you to this. You want to go there to learn oncology and not OMM. But in the end, it’s up to you.
Thank you so much!I'd personally only keep UPMC and maybe Moffitt and/or FC.
