Hey yall. Ive been reading a lot on this forum and finally decided to join because I am stumped about this.

I've been taking FL TPR practice exams every saturday for the past 6 weeks with nothing but content review the other 6 days of the week (took a break from work for the summer). My % correct has been consistently rising on tpr as well as my scores, so I decided to try out a AAMC full length to see where I stand so far (test is 1 month away).
I was under the impression that TPR is much more difficult that AAMC, so I was expecting a higher score. However, on all sections I either matched my previous TPR %correct or did better. AND MY PERCENTILE RANKS ARE GARBAGE!! I got 70% correct on AAMC CARS (my personal best) and I was 49th percentile.

Here is my progress worksheet

Date Test Name Chem/Phys % Correct Chem CARS % Correct CARS Bio/Biochem % Correct Bio Psychology % Correct Psych Total
3-Jun MCAT Course Test 1.........122 37.3 122 43.4 123 47.5 125 59.3 492
10-Jun MCAT Course Test 2.......122 38.9 124 54.7 123 47.5 124 54.2 493
17-Jun MCAT Course Test 3.......123 44.0 122 45.3 124 54.2 123 50.8 492
24-Jun TPR MCAT Test 1...........123 44.0 124 54.7 125 59.3 125 61.0 497
1-July MCAT Course Test 4........124 54.2 123 52.8 124 57.6 126 69.5 497
8-July AAMC Practice Test 1.......124 54.2 124 69.8 124 61.0 125 69.5 497

Anyways, my question is... are the AAMC practice test percentiles ridiculous or is the actual MCAT genuinely like this? I understand percentiles vary depending on the exact date you take the exam, but is 70% on CARS seriously below avg?? And what about the other sections?? Someone help me decide if I'll be ready by Aug 11th or if I should push my exam back

Based on my experience with the TPR demo, TPR is complete ****. Pretty sure I got at least 20 points lower on that than my actual exam. It's not harder - it just tests concepts in a way the MCAT would not. The AAMC materials will be your best estimate of your score come test day. Those are what you should be paying attention to.
