For histo pics, what do you guys suggest? most of the qeustions im having more trouble with are related to the ?'s which have a very concise history, and rely mostly on the ability to diagnose the disease according to the Histo slide. So is web path preferred or goljan? or both?

I read robbins thoroughly through my basic years, but its too big of a beast to tackle during step time, PD112, by x2 you mean do both?

No, I mean I second that Robbins is best for histo because of the in-depth explanations. You don't have to read the whole book, just flip through for the histo images of the HY diseases or diseases you're having trouble with & read the boxed histo explanations. Goljan RR Path is a close 2nd. FA's histo explanations/images are generally garbage so as I've been going through it, if I'm not understanding their explanation well & can't recall from classes, I reference those two books for better images & explanations.

I agree, but robbins is too much of a time sink. Rather focus that time on UFAP. At the end of my days instead of reading active material when my brain is turning off, i just go through images. Time Management is key

@aspiringmd1015 that's what I'm saying. You can just flip through your weak sections to see more pictures & read 2-3 sentences in the boxes about the key histological findings & buzzwords, etc. If you bought the books new you can enter the student consult codes on your computer to access e-versions & search for the images/topics you need. It's clutch.

yeah, but i believe in mastering a few sources rather than spreading yourself out too thin.

I would look at the relevant histo images in Robbins. People master UFAP in 4-6 weeks. No need to limit yourself when you have months until your exam. The reason UFAP works is partly due to having a strong foundation going into dedicated. Robbins can help with that foundation.

Plus when you are weak in a topic you shouldn't rely on UFAP if you have the time to look at more thorough resources.

kk will do then guys, wont use the actual book but ill use the student consult idea. Thanks, hope it works out! btw i liked goljan too bc he shows a lot of x rays/contrast stuff too. Ill probably still use goljan though.

Alright my brohans, just activated robbins via studentconsult, seems epic. I want to make sure im using it correct, theres indvidual pictures you can click on along teh left index or whatever, so im just going through the pics. Im not missing any pictures by doing this right? How is Webpath overall though? webpath seems to actually have more pics, at least more gross pics.
