What are HIV/AIDS activists and what does it take to be one? (I was discussing this with someone else)

Very vague. I would have no idea what the job title "HIV/AIDS activist" meant. I would suspect it doesn't come with a paycheck.

There are lots of positions in which you work to try to help fight HIV/AIDS. Some clinical (which would encompass all of your usual suspect of jobs) and some managerial (project/program managers, etc.).

If a job lists "HIV/AIDS activist", I have a hunch it would be more along the lines of licking envelopes, no?
