Is it okay that we hold a seat at more than one med school, I'm still really thinking about which one I should attend and which would put me in a better financial situation.

According to amcas rules, you can hold as many seats as you want until May 15th, after which you may hold only one acceptance.

But the sooner you give up one spot, the sooner that school can offer someone else an acceptance. Share the love, know what I mean?

...Unless you are waiting to see what kind of fin aid packages each school comes up with.

As others have pointed out, you can hold as many acceptances as you want until May 15th at which point you have to pick one school. If after may 15th you get another acceptance off a waitlist, you have another certain time period until which you have to determine again whether to keep the school you chose or go with the school you just got off of waitlist from, etc. And that is how it generally goes.

Don't give up any of your acceptances til you see what financial aid packets they offer, and you've thought about where you would rather go really long and hard.

Can you email schools ASKING for a good financial deal saying, "hey so and so school has accepted me also and I'm trying to decide between your school and their school. i'l go to your school if you give me a scholarship."???? Schools don't know which other schools you applied to until May, right? Just don't get how that works...

Schools can see where you've been accepted in mid-March, not May. They can never see the total list of where you've applied.

So does what other schools accepted you influence a school's decision on how much financial aid to give you? Like let's say you have one guy accepted to med school X, and another guy with same MCAT/GPA/etc accepted to med school X as well as three other schools. Is med school X gonna offer the second guy more money than the first guy in order to persuade him to attend?
