I just received my first acceptance letter, and I guess I'm a little confused about how the acceptance process works. Here's what the letter says:

"The Committee on Admissions is pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to the first year class entering in September 2006. This is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of all admissions requirements prior to that date. This place will be held for you until Nov. 21, 2005. In fairness to our other applicants, we cannot hold a place beyond that date if we do not receive the signed agreement to matriculate."

Then the signed agreement to matriculate says:

"I acknowledge the acceptance of my application and hereby declare my intention to matriculate in the First Year Class entering in Sept. 2006. I am cognizant of my right to alter my decision under the recommended acceptance procedures of the AAMC."

So by signing this form before Nov. 21st, I'm still NOT committed to going here? They will just hold my place, and I am free to change my mind at any time before May 15th right? I guess I got kinda scared when it said "I declare my intention to matriculate".

Thanks for the help...I have no idea what I'm doing...

Jenny first of all congratulations that you have made it this far 🙂...Yes, you are correct, I think if you accept it you can choose to change it by May 15, and you may or maynot get the deposit back depending on the school...hope it helps 🙂 and best of luck!

Yes, you can hold many acceptances until 5/15/06 (I think that's the date). Congrats!

Thanks so much...I'm sure you both will be joining me soon! 🙂
