Has anyone done home health as a PT for a traveling company? If so, how were you compensated? When I signed my contract for my travel assignment, my contract said I was paid hourly (I do outpatient 3 days/week & home health 2 days/week). After I turned in my first timesheet, the clinic was not happy about my hours I logged. I did not know that the clinic didn't want me to count the time I traveled between patients or time I did documentation after seeing a home health patient. They only want to pay for the time I'm actually seeing a patient & then pay mileage for the miles to patient's house. Since my contract has an hourly pay on it, I never thought it would be any different. I was frustrated after working so many hours during my first week of my assignment, but not even getting 40 actual paid hours. I have never done home health before & am new to traveling therapy. Is this normal to be paid like this when doing home health for a traveling company? I'd appreciate any help with this!

Not too many posts there, but nevertheless reading it will give you an idea of what companies to avoid. And beware of the shills who post there, although they should be pretty obvious.

Thank you for the links. I have found quite a bit of info on traveling PT, but not any specific to home health PT and reimbursement. Hopefully someone has been through a situation similar to mine & can provide some advice!

I have no idea if traveling home health PT is different, but I can tell you that it is very typical in traditional home care that you are paid only for your time seeing the patient and then for mileage between homes. Typically you are paid per visit, not per hour, with evaluations being more $$ and follow-up visits being a bit less,
OP - I searched for a discussion board for Home Health PTs but didn't find any. I did find lots of threads about HH on allnurses.com, which is the forum for nurses. IMO many of the discussions there are equally applicable to PTs. Copy-and-paste the following entire line into Google:
