Yes, I got the concept of these term by now, but I am still confused how these two are related to convergent evolution and divergent evolution. Sometimes the adaptive radiation also came up and there seems the relationship between these two term. Adaptive radiation is called when a single ancestral species diverges to many other niche, which is very similar to divergent evolution. Are these the same thing?

Analogous structures- Different origin, similar function.
Homologous structures- Same origin, diff function.

Convergent evo is associated with analogous structures. Think about it this way...structures from many different origins converging to perform the same function.

Divergent evo deals with homolgous structures. The structures from the same origin diverge to perfrom different functions. I used to mnemonic CHAD. Except the H and the A are backwards. Conv/Anal, Div/Homo.

Hope this helps.
