anyone here from michigan state university or know how their honors college work, would i get more "dental school points" for joining this program

honors college at msu

I'm from MSU (go state!!) I was not in the honors college but had a 3.8 in human bio/lyman briggs. I got into all the schools I applied to except for one, and am at UMich right now for dental school. I also know of 4-5 other people in my class who also went to MSU/no honors college/got in to a lot of dental schools. Having to do honors projects in classes is a fair amount of extra work. In my opinion you will get into all the same dental schools if you were not in honors college and just focused on getting really good grades and being well rounded with other volunteering, shadowing or working at a dentist office etc. If you join honors college, do it because you want to, not for the reason of having a better chance applying to dental schools.
