Anyone know much about Hopkins Bayview? How does it compare to top IM progrms (Mt. Sinai, Cornell, Yale, Brown are others that I am considering)?

HAve you interviewed there yet?

I was very impressed by the interview day. They really emphasized their affiliation with Hopkins. Me concerns are:
1. They overemphasized the Hopkins connection.
2. Fellowship placements were mostly at Hopkins Hospital. Are the reidents less desirable elsewhere or do they just want to stay at Hopkins?

A fellowship at Hopkins isn't the worst fate in the world.

well jeez who would want to go to JHU for fellowship ?

Really though anything else that impressed you? I've been looking for more info on this program.

 I agree, Hopkins fellowship isn't bad... But I'm from the Northeast and may not want to live in Baltimore for a full 6 years. I'm wondering if the Bayview program carries the same prestige is Boston or New York, for example, as Hopkins does.

Bayview is the location of JHU Allergy and Geriatrics Department

Bayview has a world-renown Pulmonary/Critical care program. Bayview does not carry the reputation of the Osler program. When I interviewed there, 2 years ago, the program director rubbed me the wrong way.

I guess you like being rubbed that way, whereas panopticon likes being rubbed a different way. Personally, I'd prefer to not be rubbed on my interviews unless the PD is an attractive woman.

At Bayview an intern has:

a.3 months of ICU(MICU/CICU)
b.No Elective

Hey--look everyone--another WORTHLESS post by that psycho-sexually delayed clown, (nicedream).

Go back to porn.com and stop posting your onanistic, masturbatory waste, joker. You remind me of myself as a desperate virgin at 14--but that's probably giving you way too much credit.

P.S. Save yourself the effort of a reply--I've blocked you. You definitely "rub me" the wrong way, (wetdream).

haha... i must've heard that that whole bit about the geriatrics thing like 5 times on my interview day. to answer your question about their reputation... in the northeast its perceived as a community program... at least that is what my advisor and dept chair had to say about it.
