Hospice & Palliative Medicine

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to best prepare for a hospice & palliative medicine fellowship? Do you go through a FM or IM residency? What about neurology or PM&R?

Seems like you could go through any of these routes. I'm curious if there would be an advantage in doing IM over FP in preparing for palliative medicine training?

I would really appreciate any advise.
