However, it is important for a school to be affiliated with some hospitals so that when your third and fourth year roles around you have some place to train and live. I feel that the rotations sites of a school is one of the most important things to look at when deciding which school to attend.

At LECOM (and I'm sure at most other schools) we are required to do our core third year rotations as well as our fourth year selectives, ER, and ambulatory med at affiliate hospitals. The electives you can do at any hospital you want, whether it is affiliated with the school or not.
