How does the salary for a nocturnalist hospitalist differ from someone working the day shift? Is it the same or is it necessarily much more at all?

it would depend on the area and experience.

the average for a hospitalist is about 150k. i wouldn't see it being much different for working at night, but i haven't seen any figures to corroborate my thoughts.

however, if you were to get into a group where no one wants to be the nocturnalist, likely you could use that to your advantage and get a bump in salary.
