Even though med school consumes an extreme amount of time, I was wondering which schools (in your opinion) have found a good balance between lectures/PBL and time off for study/personal time.

To get a little more specific: What school do you attend? How many hours do you spend in class per week?

Thanks in advance!

I think that my school (UTMB) has a great balance of class/PBL/self-study time. Courses here may not have more than 22 hours per week that are "faculty-led". This includes labs, lectures, and facilitated PBL groups. Of course, the faculty are willing to spend more time with individuals, if requested. this leaves a LOT of time open for self-study - AND you can still get 8 hours of sleep a night. I generally go to class 22 hours/week, study 30, sleep 56, and use the rest of the time as I wish (unless its the weekend before an exam, in which case study hours/week goes up to 54). Anyways :)
