i'm currently working on my Master's degree in PT school and am in class about 28-30 hours a week (about 6 hours a day). is this similar to medical school?

how many hours are you med students in class/lab per day and per week.

thanks

Thats about the same as my curriculum. We spent about 27 hours this semester and first year ran around 25 hours. The difference comes in when you consider study time which is 40+ hours a week on top of classes.

We typically have 5 hours of scheduled classes per day. Less than half of our class attends lectures, and that cuts class time to about 2 hours a day.

please tell the full form of PT and then i will answer you. send to [email protected]

Typical day 1st year of medical school: Lectures began at 8am and ended at 4 or 5pm most days. 3 days out of the week you have gross anatomy lab that was usually another 2-3 hours after lecture. I always studied after class so on days that lectures ended at 4 or 5, I would study until midnight and get some sleep. On other days, gross lab would end about 7-8pm. I'd only study until 1 or 2am on those nights. For my 1st 2 years of medschool, I practically lived there. 🙁

I spend about 4 hours in lecture per day and then lab: anatomy twice a week and histo once or twice. Most people skipped biochem and histo lecture this semester. The days we had anatomy, i usually left school at 4-5 pm. On histo days, I left at 3 pm. After school, I would study for another 4-5 hours after dinner. Hope that helps!

Damn, you people have some bad schedules and must be gunners to be studying so much. Our lectures were usually 8-12 with 1-3 lectures 2-3 times a week. The latest labs ended at 4 pm. Neither I, nor 90% of my friends studied the amount people mention here. Often I would not study for a whole week after a block of exams. Even after that I would usually do 1-2 hrs per day at most. I don't mean to insult anyone, just to let people know that these hours are not necessarily typical at most schools.
