I have had several docs say to me "Hey, have you seen that show Grey's Anatomy? It's the most realistic show about doctors/medical school ever made..."

I'm like wtf? Yeah I like it, but realistic? it's like watching some melodramatic soap opera...

Each one says the same thing... "Exactly..."

Anyhow, House is lame. G.A. for me all the way.

I've only seen about five minutes of Grey's, and wanted to puke, so I don't really know much about it. I do love House though, despite the many unrealistic aspects. In a world with infinite money, no morals, and no nurses, House is king.

These shows are really only worth mentioning until Scrubs returns to its thrown, however.

Grey's Anatomy is funny... and the docs in there are more or less "real" ppl, with "real" problems.
i miss the ER, when it first came out a long long time ago

I haven't actually watched an episode of House, but I'm extremely amused that they cast Hugh Laurie in the main role, given that I'm primarily familiar with his work in multiple seasons of Blackadder (british comedy) where he inevitably plays a loud, pathetic, hysterically comic and extremely animated dimwit.

House, M.D.=unrealistic show, but interesting medical cases...no way that each doctor does surgery, pathology, anesthesiology, radiology, neurology, etc., etc. I think the characters seem a bit more real....however, i've watched this more times that grey's anatomy

Grey's Anatomy=watched a few episodes and got bored, characters seem stale, and I hate that there is a narrator. Other than that, OK show, situations that the characters are put in seem unrealistic.

the narration in greys seems to be taken from zack's narrating on scrubs

If House was such a great doctor he would know how to use a cane, which he clearly doesn't by keeping it on the same side as his injury. Don't know about you, but when my right foot goes forward, my right arm does not follow suit.

voted for House just because grey's anatomy is just about the silliest soap opera on tv ever! with some bad acting to boot! (except for patrick dempsey of course. he is a CUUUTIE. still can not make me watch this show though.) the show is just benefiting from being on after desperate housewives.

especially don't like how grey's anatomy was depicting sandra oh's "conventional" korean mom.

House is fun to watch to try to guess where they're going with diagnostic tests and differential diagnosis. I've actually learned things from House... They are a little overly dramatic, though - they only use abbreviations on random things. They say "Order a Complete Blood Count" instead of CBC. Funny.

Grey's Anatomy is awful, in my humble opinion. Hello? Heart surgery in an elevator? I don't think so.

The most realistic medical show? Scrubs. Seriously. They get all their facts right on, and have enough quirkiness to portray actual residents.

I hate it when people go "Oh I hate this and this show because it's so unrealistic. Not true to life at all".

ITS A TELEVISION SHOW. I believe Bertolt Brecht tried to do the whole realism play in the early 1900's, putting real life on stage, and guess what?! PEOPLE HATED IT! No one wanted to see it and thought it was a complete waste of time.

Therefore, lets all take a moment and realize that shows are there to entertain.

With that rant over, i love both shows AND CSI....

                                  1. Pay attention to the current theme of reality shows that people seem to flock to. It is a current fad, which I find particularly annoying.

                                  2. Speaking of annoying, Dr. House is, no matter how real or fake he really is. Anyone that cusses out a nun in a hospital deserves to have their medical license revoked.

Wrong, ask an orthopaedic surgeon, you keep the cane on the opposite side of the injury to lean more of your weight on your opposite arm. If its so bad that you can't put any weight on the injured foot, you need crutches or a wheelchair. Biggest pet peev, people who use canes like that.

Do you actually think Reality TV = reality. No, reality is watching your neighbor wash his car for the upteenth time.

The *reality* tv of today is nothing close to reality.

I don't know. I thought I recognized some of those people off of Wife Swap from the local Wal-Mart.

Its just that all the girls on here voted for GA. They love the drama.

And guys love House because he gets to be an @$$ hole and get away with it.

By the way, not ALL the girls voted for GA, I voted for Dr. Hot... I mean House.
