I have had several docs say to me "Hey, have you seen that show Grey's Anatomy? It's the most realistic show about doctors/medical school ever made..."

I'm like wtf? Yeah I like it, but realistic? it's like watching some melodramatic soap opera...

Each one says the same thing... "Exactly..."

Anyhow, House is lame. G.A. for me all the way.

I've only seen about five minutes of Grey's, and wanted to puke, so I don't really know much about it. I do love House though, despite the many unrealistic aspects. In a world with infinite money, no morals, and no nurses, House is king.

These shows are really only worth mentioning until Scrubs returns to its thrown, however.

I haven't actually watched an episode of House, but I'm extremely amused that they cast Hugh Laurie in the main role, given that I'm primarily familiar with his work in multiple seasons of Blackadder (british comedy) where he inevitably plays a loud, pathetic, hysterically comic and extremely animated dimwit.

House is fun to watch to try to guess where they're going with diagnostic tests and differential diagnosis. I've actually learned things from House... They are a little overly dramatic, though - they only use abbreviations on random things. They say "Order a Complete Blood Count" instead of CBC. Funny.

Grey's Anatomy is awful, in my humble opinion. Hello? Heart surgery in an elevator? I don't think so.

The most realistic medical show? Scrubs. Seriously. They get all their facts right on, and have enough quirkiness to portray actual residents.

CSI is closer to Star Trek than real forensics.

They glorify the job of a crime scene tech----they don't investigate crimes (they just collect evidence.) Most of the techniques they use aren't invented yet.

Try Law & Order---it's way better.

1. Pay attention to the current theme of reality shows that people seem to flock to. It is a current fad, which I find particularly annoying.

2. Speaking of annoying, Dr. House is, no matter how real or fake he really is. Anyone that cusses out a nun in a hospital deserves to have their medical license revoked.

Wrong, ask an orthopaedic surgeon, you keep the cane on the opposite side of the injury to lean more of your weight on your opposite arm. If its so bad that you can't put any weight on the injured foot, you need crutches or a wheelchair. Biggest pet peev, people who use canes like that.
