I have been placed at the Chicago campus, but I interviewed in Peoria, So I have never seen the school. I am 90% sure I will be attending there for free (I got a scholarship), but I really don't know how nice it is, or about anything else, like the exercise facilities, etc. thanks for your imput. dirk <img border="0" alt="[Clappy]" title="" src="graemlins/clappy.gif" />
personally, i think the classroom, library, workout, and lab facilities are all pretty crappy--very old and not recently updated. the west side campus of UIC is really old and gloomy in general. but the hospital affiliations for the clinical years are the selling point of the school. i'm curious to know what scholarship it is that you've received that will allow you attend for free?? i'm assuming that it only covers tuition...
congrats to you on the scholarship. is it applicable at any school? out of curiosity, are you an older applicant? i ask because i'm in my mid-twenties and my parents were toddlers during the korean war. good luck to you.
My dad served in Korea, but after the war, I think in the late fifties/early 60's--he went over at the start of the vietnam war, I don't remember when that was exactly. And I am only in my early 20's, but I'm the youngest and my dad's old. Do you parents have to be veterans of a war to get the scholarships or did they just have to serve in the armed forces?
Here are is the info: 1)you must be from ILL 2)Your parent must be a vet from any war 3)there is one scholarship per war per county in ILL. 4)if two people qualify, placement occurs in this order 1-parent is not alive gets prefrence, 2-disabled parent 3-ACT.
note, this is however, for all of ILLINOIS campus and programs UIC, U Of I, undergrad, grad, med, PhD, etc, but your parent must have served during the conflict.
