I will be a sophomore in the fall and was wondering what area of research would I be able to contribute the most to and make a poster/presentation or possibly publish? (I heard that in biological sciences, I would probably wash dishes primarily since it is "over-saturated.")

Thanks!

If your major is bio then your best bet is bio. Just be stringent on what you accept.
I am a physics major and easily got a paid position in my department. I am doing actual research that is interesting. Best part is that there is no scut.

I also wanted to add to check with your school to see if they have a summer research program or REU. They are 10 weeks paid and most require a poster at the end.

WTF, do whatever research is part of your major. If you want scut work, which you obviously do because of what you wrote, then do whatever research area is outside of your major.
