How competitive are Houston's Peds residencies?

Hi everyone,

I'm a little confused about the pediatric residencies in Houston. I know Texas Children's is a big deal, is that they Baylor residency program? Aside from that, is UT Houston's program competitive? Anything else?

I would say I am an average applicant and wondering what my chances are. Would away rotations be very helpful?

Texas children's = Baylor

UT Houston's level of competition is not as high as Texas Children's, but it is a strong program with a tertiary care children's hospital in the Texas Medical Center. I would recommend applying.
