How do you know how much detail to study for step 1? Also, how can I get a breakdown of how many questions are asked per subject?

For example, I never really learned anatomy and embryo that well. I am going over it in the kaplan books - is this enough detail or should I supplement it with other books? How do you know when you have supplemented enough? Sorry for the basic questions, I guess I just don't have a good "sense" for what this exam is really like...thanks!

Try one of the NBME practice tests - the depth and breadth of content is quite similar to Step I.

Yes there are 6 of them at 45 USD 200 q's each same people who write the real questions and you get a score to reflect how you will do on the USMLE
