Strange story regarding FL#2...
I took FL#2 yesterday...or so I thought. Strangely enough, the three of us at my table and one other person were given FL#3 by mistake. How they were included with a huge stack of FL#2 tests is beyond me. We didn't notice until after the PS section, when it was too late to do anything. So I can't comment on FL#2 (I suppose I will take it next week), but I can comment on FL#3.
I made a 31 (10 PS, 11 VR, 10 BS). I thought it was really hard. I made a 28 on FL#1 (9 PS, 9 VR, 10 BS), and was hoping for a 30 yesterday. I got bogged down on early passages in PS and VR, and really had to hurry to finish on time. After the test, I was just hoping that I didn't go down.
I was excited to see that I made a 31, and noticed something interesting: the grading scale is much different than FL#1. For example, I missed 10 questions in VR on FL#1, and made a 9. I missed 14 questions on FL#3, and made an 11. It was definitely a harder test, so I am going to have to trust Kaplan that their scales are accurate and I can be excited about doing better even though my percentage of correct answers went down.
My goal on the real deal is a 34. Here's where I stand so far:
Diagnostic: 23 (8 PS, 7 VR, 8 BS)
FL#1: 28 (9 PS, 9 VR, 10 BS)
FL#3: 31 (10 PS, 11 VR, 10 BS)
I hope I am learning this stuff well enough to reach my goal. This will be the fourth time I've sat for the MCAT, so I need to do it!
