I am an alternate at GW and recently received info saying, if accepted, they require a "tuition prepayment" of $3000 due June 20th!? They state that financial aid CANNOT be used for this payment, but that it will be subtracted from the tuition due at the start of classes. How do students pay this amount?! Ugh.

My friend is in the same position. SHe wants to go there especially after they gave her a $30,000 scholarship (do they give that out alot?). Anyway she is working now and has the money, but if she pays them $3000 how is she suppose to afford the other things she needs during her first few months (rent, books, etc). It doesn't make sense to me....why make you pay now?

Well, the whole process is getting more and more ridiculous. How do they expect anyone to go into primary care when mountains of debt forces you into lucrative specialties? It sure is expensive trying to help people.
