Don't base your decision to ask AMCAS on whether it helps or hurts you. I know it's unlikely that a school would question the numbers AMCAS sends them, but if they did and found out that AMCAS screwed up, you'll look unethical for not correcting it. I'd say there's ONE thing that will garner an auto-rejection from a school, and that's coming off as unethical.
