Hi everyone,

I am soon to be an upper level medicine resident and I am now realizing that I will be responsible for the care of many more (double) patients than I was as an intern and I am a bit confused as to how to keep track of so many patients (As an intern, I would write down labs, vitals on all of my patients, but I do not know how I could possibly do this every day on potentially 20+ pts each day). Any advice, please help? Thanks

Write down abnormals and trends. Keep track of things you want to make sure your intern is keeping track of. No need to keep writing down their stone cold normal Na when their Cr is 3 and trending up and the K is 6 and doing the same.
