How do you interpret the info in MSAR?

I have been lurking for a while and have a question that I have not seen the answer too. Does the number of students that the MSAR says have applied to a school refer to primary or secondary applications? And is there much of a difference between those two numbers? Are there any websites that give the numbers of primaries and secondaries submittes to individual schools?
