How do you manage to get ECFMG certification on time to start residency?

If you graduate in May-June, how do you manage to get ECFMG certification on time to start residency in June-July of the same year? As I've read, the certification process can take up to 8 weeks and residencies won't let you start until you're certified.

ECFMG EMSWP is the answer for participating foreign schools.

If you school participates, they can upload your transcript and diploma to ECFMG directly the day you graduate. This allows rapid processing (3-5 days especially in May-June) for the issuance of your ECFMG certificate.

If your school does not use the service, well then you might be out of luck.
