At the end of the EK biology chapters, it says "you are now finished your science review, now go back and "master" your weakest topic area"

How exactly are people doing this. For example, I did BRUTAL on the thermodynamics chapter (ch 3 chem) and sound (physics), how do I go back and 'MASTER' the chapter? The 30 min exam is all marked up etc..

Also, any thoughts on the 16 mini MCATS?

Is it worth doing TPR science question or are they just too hard?

cheers!! 🙂 😉 🙂

I have the 16 mini's also, but have not used them yet. I am using both the 1001 EK books along with the TPR science workbook. If I am able to finish both books I should be prepared for the MCAT (I hope!) I am reviewing a chapter or two EVERY DAY and then doing questions from both books. On material the I am not comfortable with I do every question before moving on.

I am using the TPR verbal book also along with the EK 1001--I am stuck on a 9-- 😡 Any ideas how to break up to a 10 or better??

Hi,

All I can say is that I am having the same doubts as you are. I am getting clobbered so far in this week's EK lectures (I think I scored an 8 on Physics Lecture 6 (Waves,) and a 6 on Biology Lecture 6 (GI + Kidneys.)

I have found the EK 30-minute exams to be very challenging, and my scores on those exams aren't really corresponding to my scores on full-length practice tests that I have taken. What I'm probably going to do once I'm done with all of the lectures is go back and do as many questions in the 1001 questions series books as I can, starting with the topics/weeks in which I scored lowest in the 30 minute exams. I'm also looking over the Kaplan and TPR Books for those sections.

My opinion of the 16 Mini MCATs book is that it is another way to practice. I have found the Physical Sciences sections to be on the easy side (percentage wise, I am doing significantly better on the Physical Sciences sections in the Mini MCATs book than I did on the 30-minute exam for the corresponding material,) the Verbal section to be about average for the EK Verbal stuff, and the Bio.Sci. sections to be a bit hard.

I think the whole point of going through and doing the lectures is to give you a good idea about where your weak spots might be. Some of those 30 minute exams, however, involve stuff that the corresponding lecture says is unlikely to be on the MCAT, so, while I'm not ignoring poor performance in some of the sections, I'm not freaking out because of it, either.

Good Luck,

Jota
