Okay, I'm a little technologically behind. Different people have different picture icons. I don't like any of the ones offered by SDN. So I found a picture I liked and downloaded it onto my computer under "my pictures". Then I cut and pasted the URL onto the section in the SDN "My profile" where you can customize your picture and it works. Then I update my profile. But when I come back, my picture is gone. How do I fix this problem?

Thanks all

Make sure the picture is not right-protected.

It isn't...it is just a normal jpg.

jpg's can be right-protected. I tried using these pics from this site... didn't work because they were right-protected. Try linking directly from the website. I.e., right click on your pick, go to properties, and then copy the URL (CTL-C) and paste it (CTL-V) onto the URL location. It should work.

right-protected? ...or left-protected?

Thanks all•••••Instead of downloading the picture to your computer, simply right click on the image you like, select "properties" and then copy and paste the URL for the image into your custom avatar field (which is found under "my profile" and is avaiable if you've posted more than 50 times).

There is a discussion about this in the Lounge.
