How does AMCAS deal with MCAT retakes?

I took the April 13th MCAT this year, so I will receive my scores in a few days. However, should my score be low, I'd like to retake it later in the summer.

My question is--AMCAS has an option to report future test dates. If I submit early with only my April score reported, will my application still be sent to schools? Or will my application be held until the 2nd MCAT scores come in?
