how does ECF relate to loans/grants?

how does expected family contribution relate to the amount of scholarships/grants/loans? it'd be helpful if current med students could post what their financial aid package is like in terms of their EFC and cost of the medical school.

1. 50k private schools w/ good endowments (penn, yale, etc.)
2. 50k private schools w/ average endowmnets
3. 50k private schools that're upfront about limited funds (tufts, georgetown, etc.)
4. public schools.

btw, http://www.finaid.org/calculators/finaidestimate.phtml has sample calculator. just change the settings to "institutonal methodology".
