I'm so psyched I got two interviews today ... unfortunately, they're scheduled for the same day, one hour apart, in different cities. Anybody know how hard it is to reschedule an interview, especially at George Washington? The letter from Tulane says that they can't guarantee an interview spot if you reschedule ... 🙁

Call them and tell them that there can't possibly be two of you interviewing at the same time! Usually when you reschedule, it'll be a few weeks after the original date, but you may be lucky to get a date you want because this is still pretty early in the admission process.

I didn't apply to GW or Tulane, but the one time I had to re-schedule (Emory) they were very understanding. I think some schools try to sound intimidating about re-scheduling to discourage doing it for frivolous reasons, but if you're getting interviews this early, you're obviously a good candidate. Explain the situation, and I'm sure they will be understanding.
Good luck!

Some schools are totally accomodating, and some schools are not. You just have to call and ask. What's hard is calling a school that hasn't invited you, and saying it just happens you will be in town over such and such a few days (because you have another interview in the same city), and if they are considering giving you an interview, could they please let you know so you could coordinate interviews for travel purposes (very important when flying from Alaska!). It worked a couple of times. So, don't be shy, ask and you may receive. 😉

If the school scheduled something without asking you about your avilability they will almost inevitably agree to reschedule (although for their own convenience they of course try to sound like you shouldn't). The only problem I ever heard of was one school which refused to reschedule when the person had actually agreed to a date and they later called back and asked to change it.

I am wondering about this topic as well. I am taking Biochem starting next week and the instructor is a real stickler about her exams. She even puts in her syllabus "NO EXAM MAKEUP. NO EXCEPTIONS"

It will be my luck I'll have an exam on an interview date or will have to travel on that date. Why are some instructors such idiots when it comes to their exams???😡 😡 😡
