How important USMLE Step 1 for DO applying for MD residency?

Here is my dilemma. I am 3rd year DO student and already took Comlex 1, still waiting for grades. I would like to match in a competetive residency like radiology, and I am wondering how necessary USMLE Step 1 for me. I am pretty sure I can do very good on USMLE 2 but on USMLE 1 I probably will not do better than 84 without considerable extra study time investment that I don't really have now being on surgical rotation, etc.
Is it worth taking USMLE 1 and get only about 84? Thanks!

For allopathic radiology you will need USMLE Step I, and you will need to crush it. This topic has been discussed ad nauseum. Try a search.
