How impossible would it be to get a fellowship in bay area?

If one has personal connections and needs to move for family reasons but is interested in cards....how impossible is it to get into cards fellowship in bay area from the east coast? I'm thinking one would definitely need to do away rotations to establish connections but even then, is this a near impossible task? Any advice would be appreciated!

Not impossible at all, especially if your residency is Brigham, mgh, or penn, with good research and letters.
