submitted June 11th, processed June 12

at least thats what it says on top of my app.
for 6 days I couldn't access it.

according to my application, it says I submitted 6/12 and it processed 6/17. no transmission yet.

i submitted on the 11th, found that my transcript was lost. amcas received my second transcript on the 17th. my application was verified yesterday, the 24th. i don't think it's been sent to schools yet.

Hey guys,
Sorry if this question seems a bit dumb: how do you know if you're 2003 application was verified? I was under the impression that AMCAS emails you when the process is done. I submitted my application on June 14th. Today I check my applicaiton and it says "status- processed" Does that mean it's verified? Also- the our designate schools should recieve the applications withing 5-7 weeks of submission, correct?

hey yeah it means it is processed/verified/ready to be sent. someone people say it takes as little as 2 weeks post verification (from last year) for it - but it could be too early in the year for some medschools to be ready for secondaries. but soon eh? goodluck

just adding something-- i talked to the dean of admissions at unc yesterday, and he said that they expect to receive their first batch of apps from amcas around july 7 (which i thought was odd b/c july 7 is a sunday, but go figure). he said he's not holding his breath about receiving the apps by then, but i imagine that most schools will be getting their first batch of apps all around the same time.

Mine took 1 week to process, and I agree that AMCAS is doing a great job this year. However, I'm wondering, do you think the AMCAS app web page will actually show the transmission dates? All the dates for my schools are blank, so I assume they haven't been sent. But does anyone know if they do eventually fill that in?

Also, I talked to an admissions lady at UCSF yesterday about the UC schools. She said they are still very, very hesitant to trust the applications they receive from AMCAS this year. They expect transcripts to be mixed up, sections to be deleted, etc., so some of the UC schools are still requiring you to fill out a UC application (a mimic of AMCAS) and send it directly to each UC school. They need to be able to verify the correctness of the AMCAS material they receive by checking it against a student's own information.

submitted june 11 -- still says it's in line to be verified. do you think i should contact them?

hey cough! which UC schools are requiring people to fill out their own application? thanks

f***ing hell! amcas had a hold status on my application and didn't tell me about it. i'm glad i called.

Lola,

Do you know why it was on hold? I submitted my app on June 13 and it still hasnt been verified and my transcripts have been received. Thanks!

it was on hold, because they hadn't received a transcript i requested an exception for. on my status page it has never said they were holding my app or anything -- just that it was line for verification. however, when my schools were listed one did not say a transcript was received (it wasn't b/c i requested an exception). anyway, apparently it is ok now, because i just got an e-mail saying the hold was taken off.

•it was on hold, because they hadn't received a transcript i requested an exception for.•••••lola, who did you talk to? i talked to a woman with a childish voice. i also have a transcript exception, but she looked at it and said, Oh, okay. i'm wondering if i need to call back because she didn't sound sure in her responses to me.
good thing you found out now and not a month or more down the road!

i don't know who i talked to. a black woman? she didn't have a childish voice. is the school you requested the exception for listed when you log on? one of mine was and one of mine wasn't. the one that was listed was the one they were holding my app for. she told me i didn't request an exception for it. hmm... i could swear i did!
if a school is listed and it doesn't say "received" for the transcript, i'd call. if it's not listed when you'd log on, i'd wait for a few days. since you submitted on the 19th, it is very possible they just haven't gotten to it yet.

the excepted school is not listed on the login page, so based on your info, i'm okay. thanks for the quick reply. :) i hope they jump on your app since you submitted awhile ago. i expect it'll take some time for mine to go through, i was just a bit worried since some, like spiderman, submitted only the day before me and will be done tomorrow while they don't appear to have even touched mine. it's all about patience...

yeah, hopefully mine will be top priority now since i submitted it over 2 weeks ago :( i'm not holding my breath, though. in fact, with my luck they will tell me the request for exception is denied. i posted about this course a while back -- debating whether or not to even report it. it is a community college course i took for fun after receiving my bachelor's and master's degree. well, good old honest me, reported it and look where it's gotten me!

yeah, i submitted a week ago and it says that it's processed and transmitted, though no transmission dates appear. out of curiosity, does everyone's first page say "Your application has been pre-populated with the responses you entered in your application to the 2002 entering class. Certain fields, such as those that appear in the Certification & Submission section, have not been pre-populated." I am NOT a reapplicant, so i was just wondering...

well, lola, i guess the whole transcript exception thing is what's holding us up. [sigh]

i requested a transcript exception for the classes i took while studying abroad and had no problems... i guess it's not the same as a community college class taken after getting a BA/BS and Masters, but i just thought i would share that... oh, and for anyone who was wondering about the MCAT ID question I brought up, AMCAS' brilliant response was to ask the MCAT people (their answer was just to ignore it). I guess everything worked out, though, since it's all transmitted. Last question (and it's one that has been asked before)- does anyone have dates for tranmission yet?? i guess it's not worth worrying until the 8th?

i think it says that pre-populated business even if you didn't apply last year -- although i do think i have a userid and password for last year, so maybe mine was pre-populated as blank.

had no problem with my abroad coursework exception. it's the current (spring quarter) coursework at community college i'm having trouble with. grades were out june 10, but the transcript is not avail until mid-end of july.

OH YEAH, OH YEAH! :D

Current Application Status: Verification

Your application is currently being verified. Allow at least fifteen working days for the verification process. Your application will then be transmitted to your designated medical school(s), and you will receive an email informing you that your application has completed the verification process. Since many problems are not detectable until the verification process begins, you may still receive notification that your application needs to be corrected, or that additional transcripts have been determined to be required in order to process your application.

I submitted on June 17 and it got processed today. No submission dates yet though.

I checked my status and it says that my application is being verified at this monebt and that it may take 2 weeks for the verification.

Lola: mine sya the same thing. How long were other people seeing that messgae on their screens?

ah, i thought you were already verified. i just read the post above one of your previous ones and now understand the context. duh me! great so
17th started verification on the 24th
18th on 26th
so hopefully mine will go through day after tomorrow. i love sdn!

Mine started verification on 26-th. I also looked through the grades and I saw AMCAS already maked some corrections in there. I do not know what else needs to be verified...

oops, hehe. i thought today was the 25th. it's so hard to keep track of dates when i'm out of school. just seems like one long weekend :) ... until i have to go back to work. blah.
fixed the post above

Submitted 6/12, processed 6/19... Still no transmission dates or e-mails... Should I be worried?

pocwana...ok, i'm not sure whose post you were referring to when you said that you figured it out, so i thought i would post a reply anyway :) .
i sent my app in last monday, so the 17th. it was done verifying/processing by the end of last week. the other thing is that my study abroad grades were listed as P/F on my college transcript, as well. i hope this helps!

YAYA YAYAYAYA AYAYAYAYY YAYYA

:) :) :)

Mine got processed!!! I've been checking like 3 times a day. I'm a little bummed though... my GPA went down a little because I messed up one of my chem classes.

But yay! Now I get to wait until the app gets transmitted...

haha whoops, too excited...

I forgot to post my submission date!

June 15th-ish transcripts received
June 20 submitted
June 26 verified

~Alison

chopsuey, i was referring to simpleg's dates. 17th when amcas had everything and was finally verified on the 24th. then spiderman submitted on 18th, started to verify on 26th. i submitted on the 19th, so i was hoping to get started on the 28th or so. but now, alli cat's all verified and she submitted after me. alli, did you have anything in your app like a transcript exemption? i think that's what's holding my app up. think i'll call amcas tomorrow to make sure they have everything they need.

AMCAS sucks........... :p

Mine got processed today. :) I submitted on the 13th and my trancripts were received a week later.

After it gets processed how long does it take them to send your application to schools or has it already been sent?

submitted--6/17; processed 6/27

um, rah, and stuff

My transcripts were in May, and the app went in June 10th. I'm still waiting to be verified. :( Good thing I got it in right away...Those dirty bastards.

BR•••••Which brings up a good point--why are some apps getting to the verification stage faster than others? I can understand why it would take LONGER to verify some apps than others. But why do some sit there for weeks, when others submitted later are verified in mere days?

Mine is still being verified Two days already....

My guess is that anything that looks like it's going to be a challenge, or different, gets put in the "maybe tomorrow" pile on their desks. This, however, begs the question: why do they tell you to submit early when they don't process them in the order they were received? Again...Those dirty bastards  Oh well. Let's just hope for speedy returns from here on out.

BR

does it say they're currently verifying it or that it's in line? if it's still in line, i'd call them. that happened to me, and they were holding mine without telling me.

Is this what your AMCAS page says???

Current Application Status: Processed

Your application has completed processing and has been transmitted to your designated medical school(s). To review any corrections made to your application during the verification process, use the print option provided at the left.

I hope this means all i have to do is wait for secondaries.

argh. dang EST. i just missed amcas' hours of operation. blah. (editing) this post said i still had two minutes left...

fyi amcas hours: m-f 9-5 EST, excluding th 2:30-5

I called AMCAS today and asked why it take different amount of time to verifie applications. They did not say anything diffinate. The guy told me that all applications are different, that's why it takes different time to do verification. I do not kow what else they are verifying. They already went through my classes and check off everything they were supposed to do.

spiderman,
mine began verification on the 26th as well (submitted june 11) and is still being verified. they checked all my courses and added one i forgot on the day they began verification. on the one they added they forgot to put the OT units. anyway, maybe it takes a while b/c more than 1 person verifies it?? hopefully this is the case so that amcas will catch their mistake.

How can you tell if you are "in line" for processing?
