How long does it take schools to cash your check??

Question as stated.

I feel like it is taking forever for some checks to be cashed, and i hate it because i worry about the money just sitting in my account and me forgetting about it and then spending it..

i worked at the accounting department at a major university. they cash checks everyday.

Spot on. I've been an bookkeeper/accountant for 25+ years. Deduct it from your check register. Do NOT be tempted to use the funds. Keep your checkbook balance up-to-date. Use your check register to determine how much money you have available to spend, NOT the "available" balance you get when you call the bank. That balance takes into account only the checks that have CLEARED the bank, not what is still outstanding.

Thanks guys.. i was just wondering because I would have assumed they would cash checks the day I became complete.. who knows.. 🙂 Ive balanced my book and all 🙂 1170 spent on secondaries.. whoa. only 127$ left for mee.. haha
