how long is personal statement?

hi,

when you're asking people to write a letter of recommendation for you, how long should the personal statement be? will this necessarily be the same personal statement u use for amcas application?

Unless you want to write two separate essays just give them your personal statement. Ideally you want your personal statement to say exactly what you want to get across to people about you... so ideally it would be a good thing to give to recommenders as well.

personal statement's length is limited by AAMC to a specific length (I forgot the specific word limit), but it is about the length of 1 page, single spaced, font 11.

for recommendations, you should give any relevant information along with your personal statement. This include your resume, publications, transcripts, etc...
