How long does it take to complete residency in US medical schools?

From what I understand, it ranges in 3 years for family/general medicine to 7 years for neurosurgery or cardiac surgery. Does anyone know the exact length for each speciality, or where I can find that information?

It's just interesting because in Canada, where I'm from, family/general practitioners only require 2 years of residency, so I'm just curious to see how the two systems differ.

I think the AAMC has a website with that information

try looking for a link entitled "careers in medicine"

that site breaks down each residency and describes its length, match statistics, earning potential after training, etc... etc...
