How long to get registered for Step 3?

Hey everyone. I'm trying to plan time off and timing of buying Qbanks...

I just sent in my certificate of identification for Step 3 today and I'm wondering how long it will be before I can schedule, and then how quickly I will actually be able to take it. None of my co-residents remember for sure. I'm hoping to take it at the end of March before starting rotations where it will be next to impossible for the next 2 months (ER and ICU).

When I registered for the Step 3 it took less than two weeks to receive the scheduling permit.

However, the limiting factor is going to be the Prometric test centers. I wanted to sit for it in the Chicago area, however all test centers were booked up in advance.
