I'm inquiring particularly about Tufts. Does it usually take school a week, two weeks until they cash your check? Also, do they notify once they've received the deposit?

I can't believe myself. I finally get in to my first choice school, I freak out because my grades this semester dropped (I ended up doing fine) and I didn't want to get my acceptance rescinded, and now I'm freaking out because I'm worried that the school won't get my deposit on time (and may I add it isn't even due until the 13th of January), and will drop me like a bad habit. Sheesh. Is there any hope for me? If there isn't, then is there anyone out there like me? 😱

The other thing is I don't want to e-mail admisisons because I don't want them to know just how neurotic I truly am. 😳

I don't think there is anything wrong with you asking them if they received the deposit.

Asking them when they will cash it, though, may be a little wierd.

Good Luck!

I was accepted to Tufts last cycle and they took at least 3 weeks to a month to cash the deposit check. Being a little neurotic myself, I did email someone in the admissions office as I was petrified of losing my spot! I did receive a confirmation letter via snail mail about the time my check was cashed. Good luck, and if you end up at TUSM I'll see you next year!

I'll be happy to meet you!! Yeah, one of the admissions people told me to send an email her way next Wednesday. I think I will, because I really don't want to lose this spot!!

I send all important mail (and med school acceptance letters w/ deposit checks in them certainly qualify!) certified with return receipt. You have to go to the post office, which is inconvenient, and pay a few dollars extra, which is also annoying, but then you get a little post card in the mail which the recipient signs when s/he has received your letter. I figure the peace of mind is totally worth the extra $4.

Q hit it on the nail...nothing like certified mail to put the neurosis in check.
